AIM Academy for Somatic Integration (AASI) is a grass roots organization founded, in part, due to a need to describe the emerging movement practice forms and multi-disciplinary professions to the public. The Amend Integrative Model (AIM) is the philosophical foundation of AASI, providing a framework for communication across disciplines and enhancing awareness of reciprocal learning and somatic integration. AIM presents new terms to describe the new paradigm of client experience, education, responsibility, and choice as well as new professional scopes of practice. The immediate intention is to provide support for the emerging General Movement Practice Profession, a new distinction in the somatic integration paradigm.
AIM Broad-based Definitions:
Somatic Integration: A paradigm of mind and body forever evolving through which we attempt to realize our humanity, recognize the possibilities as sentient beings, and become more whole as bodies, individuals, and societies.
Movement Practice: Any mental or physical practice that enlivens the spirit, educates the mind, informs the body, and/or heals the heart in order for the individual to reach his/her potential beyond current physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual limitations.
